AFK Journey New Content Season - What To Expect
With the New Content season coming up to AFK Journey this May, aptly named Song Of Strife, several brand new gameplay features and important changes will be coming to AFK Journey. Therefore, it is highly important that players have a basic understanding of everything that will be updated in this upcoming content season, including special seasonal limited features and brand new upcoming functions and more.
Song Of Strife Content Season - Available Time Frame
In order to ensure the progress and gameplay satisfaction between all of the different servers in AFK Journey, the developers have stated that no matter the different server release time, all servers will be able to experience exactly 42 days of content for each content season at least. This means that every season needs to have been up for at least 42 days before they will be allowed to change into a new season of content.
For example, if the server’s release date was during the launch of the game, the new content season - Song Of Strife will be available on the 10th of May, 2024. However, if your server is released later, for example, on the 12th of April, the server will instead get access to the new content season - Song Of Strife on the 24th of May instead. The release time of the content season will also vary depending on the player's individual time zones.
Season Change Player Support Campaigns
For a limited time during the transition period between the different content seasons, players who have yet to reach the maximum Hero Resonance level for the previous season will be getting a special support campaign to help them catch up to other players in their server to have the best possible experience in the upcoming content season.
During this transitional period, players who have yet to reach level 240 for the Hero Resonance will receive a special limited buff to their AFK stages rewards. This buff will make it so that all of the AFK rewards players obtained from their AFK stages will be massively increased, allowing them to obtain even more currencies and materials necessary for upgrading their heroes and their hero Resonance level to boost their team’s combat prowess in time to tackle the brand new contents coming in the new Song Of Strife content season.
Song Of Strife Content Season - Important Changes and Updates
With the Song Of Strife Content Season update, several special changes will be coming to AFK Journey in the upcoming season, including special limited time and season exclusive contents in addition to several big changes to the progression system coming to AFK Journey.
Seasonal Progression System Update
With the introduction of the Song Of Strife Content Season update, players will experience a big change in terms of the progression process and system in AFK Journey. Normally, the game’s progression is determined by the overall Hero Resonance level, the progress of the players in terms of their AFK Stages, special Hero skills and the overall class equipment system.
However, with the Song Of Strife Content Season update, an additional progression system will be applied to all players and will help further enhance the players’ experience in the form of the Seasonal Progression system. This system will be overlaid on top of the already pre-existing progression system and both systems will be active at the exact same time.
The Seasonal Progression System consist of:
- Season Resonance Level: This Level will resets after every season and will only affect all the heroes within the season time frame.
- Season Hero Skills: Every hero will gain additional 1 seasonal skill, only effective during the season. This function will be unlocked after reaching Season Resonance Level 51.
- Season Class Equipment: This will reset after every season
- Season Artifact: 8 new Season Artifacts are introduced each season, obtainable through Season Journey and various game modes. They can only be used within the current season.
- Magic Charms: Resets every season. Charms come in 5 different qualities. Collecting 3 Charms of the same quality will activate a hero's special ability. In the later stages of a season, you can customize your hero's stats by equipping different sets of Charms.
Seasonal Additional Upcoming Contents And Features
With the coming of the Song of Strife Content Season, players will be able to partake in several brand new seasonal only contents and experience new features along with these contents. The upcoming contents players can expect includes:
- Dura’s Trial: Dura’s trial is a special brand new PvE mode where players can defeat groups of enemies and boss enemies in order to obtain various progression currencies and materials to upgrade your hero roster and advance in the game.
- Supreme Arena: Supreme Arena is a brand new PvP gamemode that players can participate in from Wednesday to Sunday of every week. Compete against fellow Magisters from your District and win best-of-three matches to climb the ranks.
- Brand New Minigames: With the Song of Strife content season, players will be able to encounter special brand new minigames on the overworld when exploring. Completing them will net the players various valuable currencies and materials.
- Temporal Nexus: If players are afraid of missing out on content from a specific season, they can enter the Temporal Nexus that will allow players to replay some of the previous content season’s contents. This feature has yet to have an official release schedule, but it will be coming soon nonetheless.
