World Bosses - Everything You Need To Know
World Bosses in AFK Journey are commonly also preferred as Primal Lords, are special limited time bosses that appear in the server’s overworld. These bosses appear periodically for a limited time in certain areas of the map that require players to arrive at the location in order to join forces with others on the server in order to attempt to take the bosses down in order to obtain special rewards based on their contributions.
Primal Lords - How To Unlock World Bosses
The World Bosses’ locations are tied to specific areas on the map. After they have appeared, they will stay on the specific point on the map until they are defeated with the combined might of the entire server worth of players.
As the world bosses are dependent on the locations on the map, in order to unlock certain world bosses, there are 2 special conditions that players need to meet in order to be able to attempt to challenge the different Primal Lords. The first is that the players need to have progressed in the main story of the game to a certain point in order to unlock the areas that the World bosses are in, meaning that players will need to finish many different quests to be able to unlock the area to keep up with the bosses’ progress and where they are on the map.
This fact also contributes to the 2nd condition: the players need to have reached a certain milestone in terms of both AFK stages they have cleared, their total battle points and their heroes' resonance levels to be able to participate in the world boss challenges.
As the world bosses are only available until they are defeated by the entire server worth of players and they are locked behind story and level walls of requirements, new Primal Lords and World Bosses will be unlocked gradually as the entire server’s player base progress in their main story exploration. The higher the exploration rate of the server’s players, the more Primal Bosses will unlock gradually and the more powerful they will become.
Primal Lords - Points Contribution and Challenge
The main gameplay mechanic for players when facing the world bosses varies depending on the Primal Lord that they are facing, however there are things that players need to take note of in order to be able to successfully challenge the different world bosses.
Firstly, the world bosses abilities vary depending on which Primal Lords you are facing, however, the common theme is that their abilities are mostly AOE attacks and will trigger at certain intervals depending on the time left during your challenge. The abilities of the boss will increase in damage based on the bosses’ levels and difficulty.
Secondly, each players have up to 3 tries daily to challenge the world boss while it is still alive, however, unlike other modes, all 3 attempts worth of damage to the bosses’ HP will be recorded and will accumulate gradually to be used as a gauge to count your contribution to the server’s effort to defeat the World Bosses.
Finally, the world boss’ HP bar is shared with the entire server, therefore, if you want to obtain as much contribution as possible, it is extremely recommended that players bring their best possible team based on the recommended hero list the game provides while building with the best of their heroes.
Primal Lords - Rewards Distribution
When dealing with the Primal Lords or World Bosses, the rewards players can obtain are divided into 3 different types. These are:
- Contribution rewards: Everytime the players deal damage to the world bosses using their daily attempts, they will also receive important currencies like Hero EXP, Hero upgrading materials and Gold based on the amount of damage they contribute per attempt. These are extremely important for team building and for players to improve their team damage output as a whole.
- Top Contributor Rewards: The top damage contributors to the world boss fighting efforts will be rewarded with special rewards based on their ranking by the time the boss is defeated. The top 20 players will be rewarded with an exclusive title that they can equip to show their contribution, while the top 200 players are rewarded with a large amount of Twilight Essences, which can be used to upgrade end game materials.
- Server Wide Boss Defeated Rewards: Once the World Boss is defeated, all players who have reached the World Boss location will be rewarded with special rewards containing summoning tickets, special shop currencies and more. These rewards are distributed to everyone on the server and will stay at the boss’ fallen location for any players who come after when the bosses have already fallen.
World Bosses - Tips And Tricks To Get The Most Rewards
Build Your Teams Accordingly
As with many other contents in the game, using the right team with the right heroes combinations to maximize your damage output is an extremely crucial thing that players need to consider when attempting any types of contents, World Bosses included. It is important for players to actually read the different bosses’ skills and mechanics to be able to make the best team possible to counter the boss and deal as much damage as possible in order to obtain the most amount of rewards individually and serverwide.
A slight tip is to follow the top contributor’s team set ups and heroes lineups as while you might be able to replicate them 100%, you can still have a better understanding of how to build your teams properly against the world bosses.
Remember to Log In Daily
Always log in daily and use up all 3 of your attempts everyday even if there’s no significant boost in damage. Contribution accumulation is extremely important against the World Bosses and every bit of damage is appreciated in the effort to fell these World Bosses.
In addition, by using up your daily attempts everyday, you will also receive materials to upgrade your teams even further, allowing you to do more damage in the future, so it is a win-win situation.
Keep Up With World Boss Available Progress and Main Story
World bosses will gradually unlock as more and more players of the server manage to clear through the main story quest and unlock the area that the World Bosses will descend to. Therefore, in order to contribute to the World Boss when they are available, it is extremely recommended that players keep up as much as possible to the main quest and unlock new areas they progress in order to be able to participate in defeating the next world bosses once they appear.
