General Overview
A Knight is a 6* Arcanist of the Spirit Afflatus that specializes in dealing massive amounts of damage to all enemies with his skill and gain specialized benefits from actually dealing the killing blow to the enemies, allowing him to enhance his damage even further if this special condition is met
Role And Stats Analysis
A Knight can be categorized as a DPS character with his skill kit focusing mainly on dealing damage to enemies. However, due to his skill kit’s special properties and his special effects, A Knight fulfills a Sub-DPS/ Damage Support Role in a team more than a main DPS, and this is also somewhat reflected in his stats.
A Knight’s stats, due to being a 6*, are quite high as a DPS character, with his attack stat at high level being one of the highest in the game. However, his damage output is somewhat hindered by his low critical chance and critical damage stats, making it harder for him to score critical hits to enemies. In exchange, A Knight has a moderately higher HP stat and defensive stat when compared to other DPS characters of the same rarity.
Skills And Ultimate Analysis
- A Knight’s 1st skill - Justice: 1-target attack. Deals (180/250/450)% Reality DMG. If the target is defeated, Moxie +(1/2/3) for self
Skill Ranking: A - S Rank
Skill Analysis And Recommendations: A Knight’s 1st skill- Justice is his main damaging skill and is the best skill among his skill kit. This skill excels at dealing reality damage to 1 enemy, with its damage modifiers extremely high and the special benefit that if this skill defeats an enemy, A Knight will gain extra Moxie based on the star rating. However, this skill will only shine with higher star rating, especially at 3 stars rating as the damage modifier essentially doubles and the benefit is higher for A Knight. In addition, this skill is quite tricky to use as if not timed right, this skill won’t grants A Knight’s any additional effects when it does not defeat the enemy.
- A Knight’s 2nd skill - Glory: Mass attack. Deals (150/150/225)% Reality DMG to 2 enemies. Moxie +(0/1/2) to self
Skill Ranking: S Rank
Skill Analysis And Recommendations: A Knight’s 2nd skill - Outdoor superstar is an extremely powerful AOE skill that deals Reality damage to 2 targets on the field. This skill grants extremely powerful benefits to A Knight in the form of its additional effect of granting A Knight extra moxie levels. When using this skill, it is highly recommended that players get the skill to 2 stars rating at least to not only boost the damage output of the skill but also to trigger the additional effect to grant A Knight more Moxie.
- A Knight’s Ultimate - After AD 778: Mass attack. Deals 400% Reality DMG to all enemies. If any target is defeated, then inflicts 1 stack of Rousing Morale on all allies.
[Rousing Morale]: Increases the Damage dealt by allies with this status by 50% (-1 stack after trigger)
Ultimate Ranking: S Rank
Ultimate Analysis And Recommendations: A Knight’s ultimate is an extremely good AOE damage dealing skill that deals Reality damage to all enemies, this effect, coupled with its additional ability and high damage modifier make this A Knight’s go to and powerful move to use in any stages. Due to the synergy of gaining moxie with his 1st and 2nd skills, A Knight will be able to use his ultimate extremely quickly in most circumstances. In addition, when the additional effect to grant all allies [Rousing Morale] triggers, all allies’ damage will essentially be increased by 50%, making this ultimate a very useful damage supporting ultimate as well.
Skills And Ultimate Recommended Order In Battle: Skill 2 > Skill 1 > Ultimate. The main goal for players when using A Knight is to quickly accumulate Moxie and defeat enemies in order to trigger A Knight’s additional effects on his skills and ultimate. Therefore, this skill order ensures that skill 2 will soften the enemy and grants A Knight’s Moxie, then skill 1 will defeat enemies weakened by skill 2 in order to grant A Knight even more Moxie for him to use his ultimate and finish off any remaining threats.
Portray Priority
While not necessarily needed, A Knight does have a very important Portray level at level 5, which allows him to grant all allies 2 stacks of [Rousing Morale] instead of 1, making him an even better sub-DPS/damage support character. However, it is not worth spending too much resources to get this Portray level for A Knight since it is at the highest possible level.
Psychubes & Resonance Recommendations
Psychubes Recommendations:
As A Knight is one of the game’s most powerful DPS arcanists, his psychubes should focus mainly on boosting his ultimate damage, so the majority of good Psychubes for her are of the Attack type, with stats for attack, critical hit and critical damage.
Some of the best Psychubes for A Knight includes:
- Hopscotch (6*): Incantation Might +(12/18)%. For each enemy target defeated by the carrier, Ultimate Might +4% for the carrier. Stacks up to 4 times. [A knight's preferred Psychube as it massively boost his damage potential for his ultimate, helping him ensure that his ultimate will kill an enemy]
- Tomorrow Also (5*): Critical Damage +(11/20)% .When the carrier casts an Ultimate, Critical Rate +10%. [A less expensive alternative to Hopscotch, is good for general ultimate damage boosting usage]
Resonance Recommendation:
For Resonance, A Knight benefits most from Attack, Damage and Critical Oriented Resonances for his role as a DPS character with a mix of Defensive Resonance as well to keep him alive.
Team Compositions Recommendations
As A Knight is a DPS character, his role in a team is the sub DPS/ Damage Support, making his team compositions be divided into 2 different types of teams as followed:
Damage Oriented Team: DPS + Sub-DPS + Survival Support
All Rounder Team: DPS + Damage Support + Survival Support
Damage Oriented Teams:
For this type of team, A Knight’s role is mainly to clean up after the main DPS have done enough damage to the enemies, allowing him to gain his skill’s benefits more easily and deal with enemies.
Main DPS options includes: Centurion (6*), Eternity (6*), Charlie (5*).
Survival Support options includes: Medicine Pocket (6*), Sotheby (6*), Balloon Party (5*).
All Rounder Teams:
A Knight’s role in an all rounder team is more minimal in that he will need to help the team’s main DPS character by buffing their damage output with his [Rousing Morale].
Main DPS options includes: Centurion (6*), Eternity (6*), Charlie (5*).
Survival Support options includes: Medicine Pocket (6*), Sotheby (6*), Balloon Party (5*).
Final Verdict
Arcanist Rank & Role: A Rank Damage Dealer / A Rank Damage Supporter
Roll Priority: High Priority, a good early game DPS option for players to consider rolling and a moderately great Damage support for many teams.
Build Priority: Medium Priority, while is one of the more powerful DPS characters, A Knight does not need much investment, therefore, investing in other DPS characters first is more recommended.
Closing Thoughts: A decently powerful DPS with his potential both boosted and held back by special conditions, A Knight is an Arcanist that requires players to pay close attention to his play style in order to fully utilize his skills to their potential, making him a very powerful Arcanist to some and a nuisance Arcanist to play for others.
