UTTU is one of the few endgame contents Reverse 1999 has to offer, usually taking place in the second half of each patch. In this semi-permanent game mode, you will need to collect a vast variety of cards with special effects and use them to your advantage. In UTTU, good utilization of these cards will be vital to your completing as many of the stages as possible. This guide will provide an optimized approach to strategizing UTTU.
There are 2 kinds of cards, the majority of them can be equipped by your arcanists. These have different rarities, ranging from the lowest cyan cards to the highest orange (fame) cards. As these cards are of such importance and you only gain 5 tries per day for farming cards, efficiency in acquiring them will be the main goal when doing the card farming stages. The drop rate of higher rarity cards will increase as you complete more of the main stages, reaching a maximum of 26% for fame cards after completion of main stage 16. Therefore, the best strategy for card farming would be to rush stages 1 – 16 on the first day without using any cards but the ones given to you for free after completing the early stages, then farm for the ideal cards once you have completed stage 16. After a few days of farming and consequently acquiring most of the more ideal cards, you can use the fame card selectors given in achievements to get the ones you are missing. There also exists another kind of cards, these are few, they can’t be farmed, but are rather acquired by completing main stages and achievements. They are only equipped by Vertin and will greatly affect your strategy for tackling the stages.
Below I will list the more important fame cards (and one star card) that benefit your team and ideally you should be aiming to get, as well as all the Vertin cards and what strategy you should be using with them. Note that these only apply to the first UTTU, as the cards and best strategies change with each new patch. Since there is no official translation for the cards’ names at the point of time this guide is being written, I will use images and sometimes the arcanists they reflect when referencing them.
Normal cards:
Eternity card
-DMG bonus +20%.
-After using Ultimate, purify all allies’ [stats down] [neg status] [control].
Some of the enemies may inflict bothersome debuffs and even control. Using this card along with the Vertin card that allows frequent use of Ultimates will greatly increase team survivability under those circumstances.
APPLe card
-DMG bonus +20%.
-After using Ultimate, 2 random skills +1 star at the start of the next turn.
The effects of this card fit arcanists with unique effects on high star skills the most (e.g., Sonetto, An-an). Using this card along with the Vertin card that allows frequent use of Ultimates or the one that gives skill star-up will greatly increase the performance of said arcanists.
TTT card
-DMG bonus +20%.
-Excess crit rate converts to crit dmg. For every two Ultimates used, the next Ultimate enjoys +50% crit rate.
This card is tailored for the arcanists that function with crit (e.g., Lilya) . Paired with another card that gives crit rate, it allows them to gain massive damage boost by converting all the excess crit rate to crit dmg.
Melania card

Cristallo card

A very useful card for your healer. The extra [sturdiness] it provides helps improve team survivability by reducing dmg taken.
Matilda card

Regulus card

-Skill count limit +2 (lowers when a unit dies).
Best card for burst nuke strategy. The idea is to gain Ultimate, then survive till the turn limit, and use burst damage to kill the enemy once and for all. This strategy works exceptionally well on certain stages (e.g., level 30).

A powerful card. Synergy with cards that benefit from high star skills. Can deal consistent damage and/or acquire consistent buffs/debuffs of high star skills when paired with certain fame cards mentioned above.
-Moxie limit -2, moxie consumed by Ultimate -2.
-A very powerful card. Synergy with cards that benefit from Ultimates. Allows arcanists to spam Ultimates every other turn. Deals massive damage and provides great utility when paired with certain fame cards mentioned above.
Regarding the UTTU shop: There is always a free skin for a low star arcanist available for exchange. Even with all the powerful cards to assist you, some may be unable to complete all of the stages, especially the 5 extra levels that will be opened for challenge a week after the main levels. With this in mind, and the fact that completing all the stages gives you just enough to empty the shop, it’s advised that you get the skin first, then the rare materials, and leave the common stuff for last.
