Wuthering Waves Beta And Leaked Contents - What To Expect
With the 2nd Close Beta test of the game, Wuthering Waves have offered players a chance to enjoy the gameplays of the game and experience many interesting game mechanics and functions.
Characters
In Wuthering Waves, you will be able to start the game as one of the 2 protagonists and a choice between female and male. The protagonists are available right at the start and you will be able to customize your name as well. The game’s protagonist is the only character in the game who has the ability to change their elements at will and players can customize their character by changing their elements, equipment and more.
Other characters in the game have different rarity of 4* and 5*s depending on the characters, with each character being assigned an element and a weapon type unique to each character, with all of them having individual playstyles and combos that players would need to learn. A total of 13 characters are available for all players to play test from the Beta test, including 4 5*s characters and 9 4*s characters. Each character is assigned an individual weapon of their choice and each have their unique individual combat combos depending on their weapon types and elements.
From leaked contents, additional characters have also been revealed, including several 5* characters that have yet to be seen from other beta contents, including characters such as Jiexin, Kakarot and Ling Yan.
Character and Weapon Enhancement
For character and weapon upgrades and enhancements, players will need to gather the materials and currencies from completing certain tasks in the overworld and collect the necessary materials scattered all over the map. With each enhancement, the character and their weapon will get stronger, allowing players to level them up more and improve their stats.
For characters, certain levels will be required to have been achieved in order to unlock special abilities and skills to be used during exploration and combat, making it extremely important for players to level up their strongest characters in the quickest way possible to maximize a characters’ potential.
Combat Elements
The combat of Wuthering Waves revolves around switching between up to 3 characters in the party to take the field and doing a variety of combo attacks in order to defeat enemies in the open world. All characters have a set number of attack types such as normal attacks, heavy attacks, plunge attacks, dodge attacks and parry, with each character having special effects for each individual type of attacks, allowing them to initiate special combos to unleash each character’s special attacks.
Each character and enemies are assigned an individual element and these elements play a big role in the combat of Wuthering Waves, with each element being stronger and weaker when compared to another element. These 6 elements are as follows: Fusion, Glacio, Conducto, Aero, Havoc and Spectra. Using the right character against the right elemental enemies are quite important in the combat of Wuthering Waves, so players need to pay attention to the enemies’ and bosses’ elements before challenging them.
The game’s main combat function revolves around elemental reactions and how the different elements interact with each other in order to unleash powerful elemental reactions against enemies.
The order in which the elements are used also does not matter. Using the dark element first and then using the ice element will have the same effect as using the ice element first and then using the dark element. This means that you can choose any element as the primary or secondary element in an elemental reaction chain. For further explanation, players can see the elemental reaction guide to have a better grasp on the whole system.
