Wuthering Waves - Spectro VS Havoc Rover - Which Rover Should You Build
With many of the players in Wuthering Waves having had the time to experience the best of what the game have to offer and a number of the more experienced players have managed to reach Union Level 40, a milestone where players can start obtaining 5* Rarity Echoes and start really building their Resonators, many players have started to turn their eyes to find a good main DPS carry Resonator to fulfill all of the most important and difficult mid to late game contents the game have to offer. One of the cheapest and more interesting options that players have started to consider is the very first Resonator all players have access to at the very start of the game - the Rover. However, as character builds do not carry over between Rover’s special Elemental Change ability, it is extremely important for players to decide whether they should build Spectro Element Rover or Havoc Element Rover.
In this guide, we will go over all of the most important details regarding both Rover elements and advise players on everything they need to consider when choosing between the 2 different elements for Rover and finally come to a conclusion on which of the 2 Rovers elements players should focus on building.

Spectro Rover - Everything You Need To Know
With Rover being the first ever Resonator the players have access to and is the presentation of the players themselves in this world of Wuthering Waves, it is not that farfetch to say that Rover is one of the most important Resonators that players can have due to their unique ability to eventually change to all of the 6 elements as the main story of the game progresses and players unlocks more and more of their abilities. However, for the current version 1.0 release of Wuthering Waves, players will have access to 2 of Rovers’ first elements - Spectro & Havoc. Let first go over the initial element that players have access to right at the start - Spectro Rover.
Spectro Rover - Advantageous Points To Consider
Spectro Rover is a very simple DPS, sub DPS character with the ability to deal damage to enemies in a moderately wide area and deal Spectro elemental damage to them. One of the main points of contention for Spectro Rover is their ability to deal with groups of enemies with ease thanks to their decently powerful normal attacks enhancements and their AOE Resonance Skill.
Spectro Rover’s abilities and Resonance Chains allows him to focus the majority of their power into their normal and heavy attacks, allowing him to constantly deal Spectro damage to enemies. Their Intro skill and ability to quickly deplete the enemies’ toughness bar and initiate Spectro related elemental reactions are also very good.
The last good point in Spectro Rover’s favor is the players’ ability to get their Resonance Chain up to 4 right away thanks to being able to obtain 4 out of the 6 Resonance Wavebands through quests.
Spectro Rover - Downsides & Cautions
For the downside of Spectro Rover, they mainly revolve around the Spectro element rather than Rover himself. The Spectro element in the game is one of the 2 elements that can interact with all of the normal 4 elements and initiate unique elemental reactions. However, the reactions that the Spectro element provide to players are more buff and defensive oriented, meaning it is more useful for players to use Spectro Rover as a quick swap character than an on field DPS in order to take full advantage of the elemental reactions and their ability to quickly deplete the enemies’ toughness bar.
Furthermore, Spectro Rover’s short range Resonance Skill makes it so that it is quite difficult for him to hit enemies on demand with their skill since it spins in a circle around him for only a short amount of time.
Havoc Rover - Everything You Need To Know
Players can unlock Havoc Rover once they have reached player union level 30 and have completed the 6th Act of the Main Story’s 1st chapter, allowing them to defeat the main boss of the version 1.0 of Wuthering Waves and unlock Rover’s ability to change elements.
To change to Havoc Rover, players simply need to change by clicking the elemental button on Rover’s main stats page and they can immediately change between the 2 elements. However, players should keep in mind that the individual element Skill levels, Resonance Chains and Echoes builds between Rovers will not be carried over between the different elements, so if players want to play as both Rovers, they would need to invest 2 times the resources to make 2 different builds.
Havoc Rover - Advantageous Points To Consider
Havoc Rover is an extremely good DPS character that wants to be on the field as much as possible to take advantage of their unique ability to fill up their forte gauge and enter the special Dark Surge Stage, which grants him enhanced Normal and Heavy Attacks bonus with quick strikes, able to take down enemies quickly and concisely.
Havoc Rover’s ability to switch between 2 different modes and enhance their normal and heavy attacks allows them to deal high levels of damage, coupled with their ridiculously high damage modifiers in their Resonance Skill and their Resonance Liberation effects, and you have yourself a very powerful Havoc DPS.
Havoc as an element itself is a very powerful offensive element as well, with the majority of its elemental reactions providing powerful effects that deal damage to enemies on the field, making it so that Havoc Rover can dish out extremely high damage while they are on the field.
Havoc Rover - Downsides & Cautions
As highly regarded as Havoc Rover is, there are still some major drawbacks for playing them that players would need to consider before building them. For once, as Havoc Rover needs to be on the field as much as possible as the main on field DPS, they would be extremely vulnerable to use against agile enemies as their attacks and attack animations are quite complicated, making it so that inexperienced players may have a hard time timing their attacks correctly.
Furthermore, Havoc Rover is extremely stats hungry, with a majority of their stats needing to be invested heavily in offensive stats, turning them into a very stat and team centric character to build in the long run.
Finally, unlike Spectro Rover who currently do not have a competition, Spectro Rover has to compete with several other Havoc DPS oriented characters, making it so that they are not the only option players can choose for a Havoc DPS Resonator.
Spectro VS Havoc Rover - Who Should You Build
To conserve resources and to have the best possible to outcome for the players who wants to build Rover as a symbol of a main character, it is important to note that while Rover can only change between the Spectro and Havoc forms at the moment, they will eventually be able to change into the other 4 elements in Wuthering Waves as well. Therefore, if players want to aim for a more universal build suggestion for Rover, it is wiser to put Rover on a generic Attack boosting Echo set so that their damage is not solely reliant on a single element.
However, between Spectro and Havoc Rovers as it is currently, it makes more sense for players to invest in Havoc Rover over Spectro Rover simply due to Havoc Rover’s more dynamic skill set and high damage output abilities. As the majority of the game currently revolves around having a single DPS Resonator on field being buffed by other Resonators through quick swapping and outro skills, building a powerful DPS option on field should take priority over a quick swap support Resonator so that players can clear the majority of the difficult challenges from the mid and end game of Wuthering Waves currently. As such, at this current stage, building Havoc Rover should be a better investment over building Spectro Rover.
