Wuthering Waves Yinlin Resonator Guide - How To Build The Best Yinlin

With news about Wuthering Waves with changes coming to the 1.0 update patches for the game, many players might be surprised to know that the 2nd banner of the update patch - featuring the Limited 5* Electro Resonator Yinlin is being pushed up by 1 week, allowing players to be able to attempt to roll for her not on the 13th of June but now, on the 6th of June. Together with her release coming out early, players will also have the chance to roll for 3 4* Resonators that will be rated up alongside Yinlin and her own signature 5* Limited Rate Up Weapon.

Yinlin - Ascension Materials & Skill Level Up Materials

Yinlin is a 5* Limited Electro Resonator that will be on rate up from the 6th of June, 2024, with her Rate Up Banner running for a total of 3 weeks alongside her limited rate up weapon banner until the end of Wuthering Wave’s update patch 1.0.

Yinlin Ascension Materials

In order to prepare and upgrade Yinlin, players will need to farm several different materials in order to upgrade, ascend and level up her skills accordingly.

For generic materials such as Resonator Upgrading EXPs, Shell Credits and Weapon enhancement EXPs, players can farm those at the Training Simulation.

For Yinlin’s ascension materials in order to help uncap her level cap, players will need to fight the World Boss Mech Abomination in order to obtain her ascension material - Group Abomination Tacet Core. In order to upgrade Yinlin to max, players will need a total of 46 of these materials to fully upgrade Yinlin to lv90.

In addition, in order to ascend Yinlin, players will also need to go around the overworld and find a total of 60 Coriolus in order to upgrade Yinlin to max lv 90. Coriolus can be found around the area of The Great Banyan, if players are unsure where to find them, they can look for them on our Interactive map.

Weapons & Skill Upgrading Materials

Aside from leveling and ascension materials, in order for Yinlin to become more powerful, players will also need to level up her weapon and her skill level using specialized materials, 1 type dropping from overworld enemies and 1 drop from specific domain that players will need to spend energy on.

For the overworld monster materials, players will need to farm the Whisperins Cores dropped from normal enemies in the overworld or buy them from the game’s souvenir shop. Players will need a lot of these for Yinlin’s ascension and skill upgrade, so be sure to stock them up in advance.

For the domain specific materials, since Yinlin is a Rectifier Weapon type user, she will need the different rarity Helixes from the Forgery Challenge: Misty Forest. This is needed for both for skill upgrade and weapon upgrade, so players will need to spend quite a bit of energy to get them as well.

Yinlin - Echoes & Weapons Recommendations

Echoes Sotana Set Recommendations

As Yinlin is an Electro Resonator, if players want to focus mainly on boosting Yinlin’s main damage while she is on the field, then the Void Thunder set is the natural recommended set for Yinlin.

However, as Yinlin’s skill kit makes her a more Sub DPS Supporter type of Resonator that does not need to be on the field for long period of time, players can also consider the Moonlit Clouds Sonata set for her in order to boost the team’s overall damage as well.

Echoes Main And Sub Stats Recommendation

For main and sub stats for Echoes, Yinlin will need a varied set of stats needed for her to shine her best as the team’s supporter while maintaining her own damage output.

The main stats that players should get are:

- 4 Cost Echo (Impermanence Heron): Crit Damage% / Crit Rate%

- 3 Cost Echoes: 1 Electro Damage% and 1 Energy Regen%

- 1 Cost Echoes: 3 Atk% Echoes

Recommended Sub Stats: Crit Rate% / Crit Damage% > Liberation Skill Damage% > Atk%

Weapon Recommendations

For Yinlin, her best in slot weapon is of course her signature weapon:

- Stringmaster (5* Limited Weapon): All Resonance damage is increased by 12% . After casting Resonance Liberation or Outro Skill, the attack is increased by 12% , the effects are independent and can be stacked up to 12% layers, and the effect lasts for 2 seconds.

For alternatives, players can use these weapons as substitutes:

- Cosmic Ripples (5* Permanent Weapon): Energy Regen is increased by 12.80% . When Basic Attack hits a target, Basic Attack Damage is increased by 3.20% . This effect can stack up to 5 time(s) and last for 8s.

- Augment (4* Weapon): After casting Resonance Liberation, the self-attack increases by 15% , lasts for 15 seconds.

Yinlin Play Style Analysis, Skill Upgrade Priorities & Recommended Teams

Yinlin Playstyle and Abilities

Yinlin’s main gimmick revolves around her and her puppet’s “Zapstring” ability to inflict enemies with special “Sinners’ Marks” when doing dodge counter or attacking them. When an enemy is inflicted with “Sinners’ Mark”, they will take more damage from Yinlin’s abilities, skills and Resonance Liberation.

Yinlin’s main damaging output comes from her Forte Gauge effect, which allows her to accumulate Judgement Points when attacking enemies. Once the points have reached its max, Yinlin will unleash a devastating instance of Electro damage in a wide area, converting enemies’ “Sinners’ Mark” into “Punishing Mark'' and make it so that enemies with “Punishing Mark” will take constant Electro damage.

Yinlin’s Resonance Skill allows her to change her puppet into discharging Electro damage in a wide area and grants Yinlin the Magnetic State. While in this state, Yinlin’s damage output is massively increased and hitting enemies with “Sinners’ Mark '' will allow her to do additional damage.

Finally, Yinlin’s Resonance Liberation skill allows her to discharge a massive AOE Electro damage instance and links an enemy with her puppet. While the link exist, the enemy will always have “Sinners’ Mark”

Yinlin Skill Upgrade Priorities

Yinlin’s main source of damage comes from her Forte Gauge and Resonance Skill, so they are of the highest priority for players to upgrade.

However, if players want to play Yinlin as a sub DPS supporter Resonator, her outro skill is also highly recommended to be upgraded. 

Her Resonance Liberation and Normal Attacks are lower in priority, if players have spare materials, they can level them up to a certain degree as well.

Recommended Teams

With her abilities to boost the Liberation Damage of allies when using her Outro Skill and her skill kit boosting the overall damage enemies take from attacks, Yinlin is extremely suitable as a Sub DPS Supporter Resonator in many different teams, but she especially shines in Electro centric teams.

Yinlin’s most direct partner in crime and her most Ideal team is with Calcharo and a 3rd resonator who can either buff or provide the team with good sustainability.

Yinlin will also work well with other DPS options as long as the main DPS’ damage output is reliant on their Resonance Liberation damage. The prime example of this is Jiyan.
