Ellen Joe VS Zhu Yuan - Who Should You Roll For
With the release of Version 1.0 Release of Zenless Zone Zero, the first 2 Limited Rate Up banners in the game will feature the 2 brand new Agents that will only be available for a limited time during their rate up banners - he Limited S Rank Ice Elemental Agent Ellen Joe and the Limited S Rank Ether Elemental Agent Zhu Yuan.
Ellen Joe
Ellen Joe is a S Rank Agent of the Attack Agent Archetype. She deals Ice Elemental Damage when she is on field and is an extremely powerful Ice Elemental Damage Dealer agent with the ability to not only deal massive amounts of Ice Elemental Damage to enemies but also inflicting them with the Ice Elemental Anomaly Effect - Frozen and Shatter the enemies in order to deal additional damage with ease thanks to her diverse and powerful skill kit.
Ellen Joe’s main gimmick revolves around her using her abilities and special movements in order to sweep enemies up with her weapon and inflicting them with as much Ice Elemental Damage as possible while obtaining Flash Freeze Point in order to allow her to enter her Special Flash Freeze State, massively enhances her damage output and effects.
Ellen Joe’s Normal Attacks allows her to deal up to 3 attacks in a row, dealing physical damage. When Ellen Joe is in her Flash Freeze mode, these damage will be converted into Ice Elemental Attacks and have their effect enhanced, spending the Flash Freeze Points to extend her normal attacks’ duration.
Ellen Joe’s Special Attack allows her to quickly swipe her tail, dealing massive amounts of Ice Elemental Damage. When she gathers enough energy, this attack will be changed into her EX Special Attack, granting her invulnerability and increases her damage.
Ellen Joe’s Movement and Dodge is extremely unique when compared to other Agents. When holding or double tapping the dodge button, players can make Ellen Joe enter her Roaming mode, allowing her to quickly use her attacks to sweep across the battlefield and attack any enemies that stand in her way. When in this stage, pressing the normal attack button allows her to constantly deal Dash Attacks, gaining Flash Freeze Points. When her Flash Freeze point reaches 3, she will enter her Flash Freeze Mode, massively enhancing the damage output of her normal and dash attacks. If players were to hold the normal attack while she is in Flash Freeze State and Roaming Mode, she can perform a special scissor attack that deals massive amounts of Ice Elemental Damage and immediately shatters enemies, dealing additional damage to them.
Zhu Yuan
Zhu Yuan is a S Rank Agent of the Attack Agent Archetype. She deals Ether Elemental Damage when she is on field and is an extremely powerful Ether Elemental Damage Dealer with her especially explosive playstyle, being able to shoot at enemies from afar and dealing massive amounts of Ether Elemental Damage to enemies while also taking advantage of the Ether Elemental Anomaly Effects to further boost her own damage output on the field.
Zhu Yuan main gameplay revolves around her ability to quickly approach the enemy to overwhelm them with a flurry of martial arts, bullets and Ether Elemental Damage. Her main damage gimmick relies on her obtaining special Enhanced Shotshell from various sources to massively boost the damage she does from her gun attacks.
Zhu Yuan’s normal attacks allow her to quickly approach the enemy and deal up to 5 instances of damage in succession, dealing both Physical and Ether damage to enemies. When her 5th attack hits, she will gain 1 Enhanced Shotshell. Holding the Normal Attack button will make her enter Suppressive Mode, allowing her to spend up to 3 Shotshells to deal damage to enemies, if an Enhanced Shotshell is consumed, she will deal massive amounts of Ether Damage with each shot.
Zhu Yuan’s Special Attack allows her to quickly release a buckshot towards the enemy, dealing Ether damage to them. This attack can be repeated 3 times in a row by spamming the Special Attack button. When Zhu Yuan has enough energy, this skill will turn into her EX Special Attack, allowing her to deal more explosive buckshots that explode on contact and dealing more Ether Elemental Damage. Afterwards, she gains 3 Enhanced Shotshell.
Which Banners Should You Roll On
Before debating on which of the 2 banners players should roll on, it is important to note that, if players were to favor one Agent over the other due to preferences or their love for the characters’ playstyle, personality or story, then players should prioritize getting the character they like.
However, if players are debating on which of the 2 Agents they should get purely for gameplay and meta reasons, then players should consider some of these points:
Ellen Joe Vs Zhu Yuan - Which Agent Is More Beneficial To Have
As mentioned, both Ellen Joe and Zhu Yuan are considered the main DPS Agents for both of their respective elemental damage teams, with Ellen Joe being the core of the Ice Elemental Damage team and Zhu Yuan being the core for Ether centric Elemental Damage teams.
In terms of capabilities and power of their own skill kit, both Agents can deal massive amounts of damage when they are fully geared and both excel at their overall offensive capabilities. However, when factoring in other supporting factors like team building and faction related buffs, it is very clear that Ellen Joe is more preferable to have than Zhu Yuan at the current moment.
Ellen Joe, being of the Victoria Housekeeping Co., have many Agents of the same faction that can synergize with her extremely well, making the Ice elemental damage team shine in a lot of situations. Meanwhile, Zhu Yuan, being an Ether Damage Dealer, only has 1 supporting Agent for the Ether element in the form of Nicole Demara, making it hard to fully build a team to help Zhu Yuan make full use of her combat potential.
Rate Up A Rank Agents - Which Banner Is Better
Aside from the rate up S Rank Agents, each of the rate up banners will feature 2 A Rank Agents that will also be on rate up as well.
Ellen Joe’s Limited Rate Up Banner will feature the 2 A Rank Agents: Anton Ivanov and Soukaku. Anton Ivanov is an Electric DPS Agent with a decently powerful skill kit, while Soukaku is an Ice Elemental Support Agent that pairs extremely well with Ellen Joe in Ice Elemental Centric team compositions.
Zhu Yuan’s Limited Rate Up Banner will feature the 2 A Rank Agents: Ben Bigger and Nicole Demara. Ben Bigger is a powerful counterattacking Sub DPS Agent that is extremely powerful to use while Nicole Demara is an Ether Elemental Damage support and is the perfect partner to Zhu Yuan in Ether Damage team.
