In anticipation of Zhezhi banner releasing with the release of Wuthering Waves’ version 1.2 Update Patch to help players have a better understanding of how Zhezhi works, her strengths and weaknesses, her strongest possible Echoes combinations, her best weapon choices and how to use her in a team, we will go over everything players need to know in order to be able to prepare for Zhezhi’s arrival and build the best possible Zhezhi once players have obtained her.

Please note that this article’s data is based on the general data that many players have gathered and have considered to be Zhezhi’s general best build at the time of writing. As the game progresses, Zhezhi’s role and meta capability may change, therefore, her builds and team compositions may change accordingly.

Zhezhi - Ascension Materials & Skill Level Up Materials

Zhezhi is a 5* Limited Glacio Resonator that will be on rate up from the 15th of August, 2024, with her Rate Up Banner running for a total of 3 weeks alongside her limited rate up weapon banner.

Zhezhi Ascension Materials

In order to prepare and upgrade Zhezhi, players will need to farm several different materials in order to upgrade, ascend and level up her skills accordingly.

For generic materials such as Resonator Upgrading EXPs, Shell Credits and Weapon enhancement EXPs, players can farm those at the Training Simulation.

For Zhezhi’s ascension materials in order to help uncap her level cap, players will need to fight the World Boss Lampylumen Myriad in order to obtain her ascension material - Sound-keeping Tacet Core. In order to upgrade Zhezhi to max, players will need a total of 46 of these materials to fully upgrade Zhezhi to lv90.

In addition, in order to ascend Zhezhi, players will also need to go around the overworld and find a total of 60 Lanternberry in order to upgrade Zhezhi to max lv 90. Lanternberry can be found around the overworld with the new version update map, if players are unsure where to find them, they can look for them on our Interactive map.

Weapons & Skill Upgrading Materials

Aside from leveling and ascension materials, in order for Zhezhi to become more powerful, players will also need to level up her weapon and her skill level using specialized materials, 1 type dropping from overworld enemies and 1 drop from specific domain that players will need to spend energy on.

For the overworld monster materials, players will need to farm the Whisperins Cores dropped from normal enemies in the overworld or buy them from the game’s souvenir shop. Players will need a lot of these for Zhezhi’s ascension and skill upgrade, so be sure to stock them up in advance.

For the domain specific materials, since Zhezhi is a Rectifier Weapon type user, she will need the different rarity Helixes from the Forgery Challenge: Misty Forest. This is needed for both for skill upgrade and weapon upgrade, so players will need to spend quite a bit of energy to get them as well.

Zhezhi - Echoes & Weapons Recommendations

Echoes Sotana Set Recommendations

As Zhezhi is a Glacio Resonator, if players want to focus mainly on boosting Zhezhi’s main damage while she is on the field, then the Freezing Frost set is the natural recommended set for Zhezhi to boost her Glacio damage output.

However, as Zhezhi is a Glacio damage support chara that wants to help supplement other allies’ damage output in the team, the main set that players can run for Zhezhi is the Moonlit Clouds Sonata Set, which helps boost her energy regeneration and help increase the damage of other allies.

Echoes Main And Sub Stats Recommendation

For main and sub stats for Echoes, Zhezhi, as the damage support for the team, will need offensive stats to help boost her familiars’ damage while also have a higher enough Energy Regeneration% to quickly use her skills.

The main stats that players should get are:

- 4 Cost Echo (Bell-borne Geochelone): Energy Regeneration

- 3 Cost Echoes: 2 Glacio Damage%

- 1 Cost Echoes: 2 Atk% Echoes

Recommended Sub Stats: Energy Regeneration% > Resonance Skill Damage% > Normal Attack Damage% > Atk%

Weapon Recommendations

For Zhezhi, her best in slot weapon is of course her signature weapon:

- Rime-Draped Sprouts (5* Limited) (Critical Damage%): Increases ATK by 12%. After activating the Resonance Skill, increases the user's NA damage by 12% for 6 seconds and this can stack up to three times. When the Outro skill is activated after accumulating 6 stacks, removes the stacks and buffs the on-field resonator's NA NA DMG by 52% lasting for 25s.

For alternatives, players can use these weapons as substitutes:

- Stringmaster (5* Limited Weapon): All Resonance damage is increased by 12% . After casting Resonance Liberation or Outro Skill, the attack is increased by 12% , the effects are independent and can be stacked up to 12% layers, and the effect lasts for 2 seconds.

- Cosmic Ripples (5* Permanent Weapon): Energy Regen is increased by 12.80% . When Basic Attack hits a target, Basic Attack Damage is increased by 3.20% . This effect can stack up to 5 time(s) and last for 8s.

Zhezhi Playstyle Analysis, Skill Upgrade Priorities & Recommended Teams

Zhezhi Playstyle and Abilities

Zhezhi is a 5* Limited Glacio Elemental Resonator that uses a Rectifier as her main weapon in combat. She is a Glacio Sub DPS with support capabilities, being able to boost the damage of other Resonators with her skills and Forte Gauge abilities

Zhezhi’s main strong point and gimmick lies in her ability to summon special familiars to aid herself and allies when attacking enemies, helping to deal coordinated attacks and boost the team’s overall damage. In addition, her abilities allow her to boost the team’s overall Glacio damage output and help to supplement other Resonators' energy needs.

Zhezhi’s Forte gauge allows her to accumulate Afflatus points with her abilities and spend them to summon special familiars to aid her and allies in battle, each of the familiar’s damage are considered basic attack damage, with up to 3 familiars being able to be summoned at the same time.

Finally, Zhezhi’s Resonance Liberation allows her a special Inkling Spirit to aid in battle, with the Inkling Spirit dealing massive amounts of Glacio damage to enemies as coordinated attacks. Up to 21 Inking Spirits can be summoned this way and their attacks’ damage are all considered as Basic Attack damage.

Zhezhi Skill Upgrade Priorities

Zhezhi’s main source of damage comes from her Forte Gauge and her Familiars summoned by her Skill, so they are of the highest priority for players to upgrade.

Zhezhi’s Liberation Release and her normal attacks also contribute greatly to her overall damage output when she is on field, therefore, to maximize Zhezhi’s damage potential, these abilities should be leveled up as well to boost Zhezhi’s own damage output when she is on the field.

Recommended Teams

With her abilities to boost the overall damage of the team by summoning her familiars on the battlefield to aid and attack together with the main DPS, Zhezhi is extremely suitable as a Sub DPS Supporter Resonator in many different teams, but she especially shines in teams that take advantage of coordinated attacks

Zhezhi’s most direct partner in crime and her most Ideal team is with Jinhsi and a 3rd resonator who can either buff or provide the team with good sustainability.

Zhezhi will also work well with other DPS options in a more Glacio centric team with Lingyang as the main DPS and Sanhua or Baizhi as another damage support or sustain option for the team.
